Yeah Buddy! takeover Threshold Festival on Friday, March 31st with a monstrous line-up 06/02/17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Threshold Festival have invited Yeah Buddy! back for a 2nd year to curate a stage of our absolute favourite bands. We head back to Unit 51, one of the coolest cafes in town and we’re bringing 5 of our finest Yeah Buddy! family members to riff you into a pulp and then drink you down for sustenance. Threshold has been one of our favourites weekends of the year since our first drop in as reviewers 4 years ago. Since then we have seen the event grow into something truly impressive. It is one of the most important events of the year for grass-roots arts and music on a national level. Headlining this year, we have ferocious noise-rock trio Table Scraps. We have coveted this band for some time and it is with delight that we can present them to a baying Liverpool audience. Their buzz-saw punk is more edgy than a dodecahedron. Next up, we have the band that reside firmly in Yeah Buddy!’s heart. Sweet Deals on Surgery who may well be one of the most frenetic and unpredictable live bands around. They’ll be playing tracks from one of our favourite albums of last year ‘The Snake and the Snoozer’ THEY’RE BACK. SPQR, one of the best bands to come out of Liverpool in ages (and Liverpool has produced a ton of ace bands). Watch in awe/fear as frontman Pete menaces around the stage like a man possessed. They have recently signed up Elijah James as their new bass player to make up a fine looking distinctive sounding trio. Having released their debut single ‘Disappear’ to a rapturous response from independent press, Lilium have asserted themselves as a huge prospect and a band bound to have a huge 2017. One of their first shows of the year will be here at Threshold so prepare to be amazed. One of the most energetic bands we have witnessed in quite some time will be kicking off Threshold. They are going to set the bar to a nosebleed height. Any band out there aiming to be tight musically but with a dynamic live show, come and take notes. The Threshold Press Launch will be held at 5:30 to 6:30 in Unit 51 just before Yeah Buddy!’s dream team ransacks the damn place so dress casual.
