(ATLAS) With ties to several other D.I.Y projects including Monster Sound, Liverpool Band Society and YB! favourite Dirty Bernard, (ATLAS) come with a fair amount of experience and excitement behind them. They make euphoria inducing melodic math/post-pop, rock and they make it very well.
GENRE Alternative / Post-Rock / Indie / Stuff BIO (ATLAS) are a four-piece band based in Liverpool that play music of the Alternative/Atmospheric variety, with a strong emphasis on dynamics, dense vocal harmonies and effects-laden guitar lines. With influences ranging from sweaty back-room indie to arena post-rock, the band create music that is both considered and energetic, as delicate in its quieter sections as it is uncompromising in its heavy passages. (ATLAS) are: Alex Newton - Guitars Joe Mannion - Bass Leigh-Angel Bevan - Drums Sam Jones - Guitars (They all sing at different points) (ATLAS) record everything themselves in a home studio; Sam handles all the production and mixing side of things, and they do all our own artwork/promotion, they've got a pretty strong D.I.Y ethos, which YB! fucking loves. This E.P was mastered by Tom Peters of Alpha Male Tea Party, who did an amazing job! They spend a long time on their studio work and try to incorporate a lot of different elements into their music, including the use of layered guitars, vocal effects and electronics/synths. (ATLAS) ideally love playing with other Alternative/Post-Rocky bands, but if you think they'd be suitable for anything they're always game for chatting about it! (ATLAS) like travelling. They also love petrol money and beer, but who doesn't! They also have done a bunch of charity shows in the past and are always up for playing them if they can. RECOMMENDATIONS Sam from the band says "On the Liverpool scene we've have always had fun shows with Rock Formations (run by the brilliant gentleman from Kusanagi) and Yeah Buddy! themselves. Some of our favourite past venues have been the Kazimier, Lomax and Magnet. We also have a soft spot for Maguire's where we've played more times than we can count, but it's a bit harder now with our newer set since our electronics have this unfortunate tendency to blow the venue's PA speakers up... In terms of bands, always have to shout out to Pocket Apocalypse seeing as they're some of our best friends." LOCATION Liverpool/London
